under a new name perhaps?

A mate was wondering which prestigious French rim manufacturer he uses for his DH rims.
These ones:

I'm pretty sure he found the STWers too sensitive and has gone elsewhere.

I guess you mean these

How many "prestigous French manufacturer"s are there?

At least a couple and probably more - Mavic & Rigida, I would say it's more likely to be the latter.

Think it's a company related to Mavic in some way. It isn't Mavic themselves.

He was 'bullied' off for his underhand tactics - eg posting as a customer to recommend his own products while slagging off competitors.

happens all the time in all areas unfortunately. Aggressive marketing is all the rage these days

Only to the people that do the bullying, usually.

I wasn't orrible to him. But marketing, particularly subversive marketing, is surely against the terms of usage? I thought the abuse he received was to be expected. Did he apologise? I don't thinks so.

If I saw an apology and a promise to play fair in future, then I'd accept him back.

Sorry but he wasn't bullied.

He came here slagging off customers and then doing various underhand things as I posted above. It's not 'agressive marketing'. Posting quite openly as himself and saying why his opposition's products weren't as good as his or just that they were crap would be agressive marketing.

People didn't like it and told him so. That's not bullying.

I think some people made some quite personal remarks. That seems like bullying to me.

I don't condone what he did, but the resultant witch-hunt/mob mentality was a little ugly in my opinion.

Can't say that I saw any but I didn't see all the posts so there could have been. All the ones I saw were just slagging him off for being a **** which seemed reasonable enough given his behaviour.

Surely he was banned for that kind of underhand behaviour?

Even if not, I know I'd be too embarrassed to return after being caught red-handed like that.

he was bullied, fred was bullied, frenchie was bullied and a few others too.
it happens a lot on here, a certain few try it all the time.
thing is, when it is returned they tend to get very upset and start the accusations............it is all good fun.. 8)

I am probably one of the folk refereed to as bullies and perhaps I did go OTT at him. He had threatened me and made scurrilous remarks about me and aaccused me of doing things I had not done.

However he continued to post on here after I had stopped and he then posted under a different name masquerading as a customer of his promoting his products which is Illegal and unethical. I assume he was banned for that - certainly he has not been caught doing this again.

Pretending to be a satisfied customer when he is actually the retailer is illegal.

No offence to anyone but most mountain bikers esp at trail centres (except for those who look like builders) were probably bullied at school.

Let face it - most of you are probably sub-13stone, weedy and nervous around ladies.....bingo!

That easily wins the prize for the most stupid and ridiculous statement I have ever read on this forum, and that is saying something. I presume that you're a real man of steel Hora and an instant hit with the ladies, or should that be laddies?

Well, when I had it at school, I let it lie as long as I could, them flipped my lid and it ended in blood and tears for one bully. I find they tend to stop if you do that.

But you can't do that on the intenet, so the same thing goes unchecked, especially if the mods happen to think it's funny......

Ouch, I've struck a nerve with one! ๐Ÿ˜†

I'm not a man of iron. At school I was neither the nerd or the hard ones- I was one of the inbetweenies ๐Ÿ˜€

On a serious note though. I saw some of the posts and I also witnessed what 'Fruit' did. I've also seen a photo of him. I put 2 + 2 together. Some folks invective was thrown his way due to his stature/build. They knew that he'd never corner them and ask them why they said what they did or beat them up.

If the lad was 6f2/16stone and had Tony Ellsworths personality I dont think they'd risk saying as much ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was inverted-bullying.

Not in the sense you probably mean! I just wonder how people come up with that sort of 'opinion' when it is clearly a load of bollax. Most people who ride at trail centres were probably bullied at school?? What?

Tricky for the STW boys. He was an advertiser paying toward upkeep of the site, but then he abuses it. I suspect they had a quiet word...
