The distinctive bang of somebody using the letterbox to knock on the door.
Standing there is a man in a boiler suit.
"Are you Tony?"
"No"
"Oh. I'm looking for a motor bike man called Tony, he lives around here, all I know is that he lives on a corner in a house"
"Not exactly a corner is it. That house next door is a on the corner, I'm more up the street"
" Do you know if that next door is called Tony?"
"No. His name is Frank"
"Do you know anywhere else around here that has houses on the corner of a street"
"It's Newcastle. Houses are generally in streets, quite often with corners"
" No need to be rude mate, I don't know where I'm looking for"
" So your telling me that you are going to go around and knock on everybody's door who lives on a corner around here looking for Tony the motorbike guy?"
Man makes an exit making some rude comment as he leaves.
Was I too rude? Should I have been nicer and suggested more streets to try?
