  • Do people actually READ threads on here?

As in, you ask a direct question, they answer a different one.

Someone gives an answer, it gets repeated, as if it was never written the first time

You ask for an opinion on A vs B, and get one on C, D, E & F

You say, I'm looking for X, but I certainly don't want Y, and then get told by all and sundry that you really should get Y.

Sorry, I do notice this quite a lot on here….. 😉

Couldn't be bothered to read all the replies above, but I'd say Domestos will be too strong and may burn your sensitive skin.

I could have placed a lot of money that some smart arse would have come back with a comical answer.

I guess some people can't be bothered to read what people think, as they think they are right… Who knows. Mystery of the internet forum.

    i read your thread.

    its pointless.

    i read another thread

    it was pointless too.

i conclude none of the threads on here have a point.

If you can attract TJ to your thread, expect to be asking the wrong question and be told what the correct answer is!

well you don't want that bike as a first bike, you need something in the range of the 50bhp to learn to ride properly.

The problem is that people ask the wrong question. An example being the thread on a sustainable office where the OP got upset when it was pointed out that what he did in his office as regards saving power and paper etc. was nothing as to what could be achieved by looking at the designs they were producing for their clients. If you have to ask the question in the first place how do you know you have sufficient knowledge to ask the right one?

The only bit I can explain regarding your post is the repeating of information.

If for example I post a question saying "Has anyone licked the metal bits of a scalextric track while the power is on, and does it hurt" and one person replies saying, "yeah it hurts a suprising amount" and one person replies saying "yeah do it all the time and it's painless" then I have not really been helped out.

If 10 people reply saying "yeah, it hurts" and one person replies saying "it's fine, I do it all the time" I have more information that the chances are it will hurt.

Oh and if you think that the D80 is waterproof & doesn't need a case when diving……don't say I didn't warn you.

PS – I have done and yes it does hurt.

The problem is that people ask the wrong question

Sometimes, yes possibly. But mostly it's people that haven't read/understood the question or think their opinon is more valid than an actaul correct answer.
Especially in the case of: I'm looking for X, but I certainly don't want Y, and then get told by all and sundry that you really should get Y.
