…any good ? Are they okay geared (1×9)? I’m 5ft 11 and am thinking of going for the medium (Olive).

They sold out ages ago I’m afraid.

New batch is coming late June/July (see the news section on the dialled bikes site).

The new one is singlespeed only. Mine is ordered.

think it would make a loverly fully rigid SS, all black components but with the olive frame.

I’m hellishly tempted to build one up!!

Cheers desf – I missed that 🙁 – looks like it might have to be a Prince Albert instead.

A medium PA would be spot on I reckon, especially if you are running gears. Mike is a great guy to deal with too. I don’t think there were alot of the first batch of Love/Hates made (maybe 100 or so) and they don’t seem to come up 2nd hand too often. Might be worth asking on the classifieds though.

I had a large orange one like cheesyfeet’s above, sold it and regretted it ever since.

New one’s are in ivory or orange.

How can it be a Love/Hate if it’s SS only?

is the love/hate better than the PA?

Which is preferable love/hate, cotic simple, singular as SS?

I’m torn between the L/H and the Swift to be honest.

Love Hate is set up for 100mm forks IIRC – PA is set for 130mm. Have a look at the Dialled bikes website for geometry details.

They’re is a bit of a Prince Albert clique going on at the moment so you won’t hear much bad about them on here. I’ve got a nice red one – and I’ve got a PA.

Ah, my mistake. I have one its a fun bike but it has a very unforgiving rear end.

I have a large green L/H and it’s great. But I dont single speed any more so it has to go..

Comments from having previously owned one:

    -they are heavy
-the bolts used for holding the ebb in place are crap (flat head screwdriver fittings??)
-they are fairly decent value for money
-the paint is a nice colour

Did you not notice the bolts have an hexagonal head on them? You can use a spanner/wrench to tighten them (or a screwdriver).

Agree with Mike at Dialled, You can use a spanner.

Heavy? I dont think so, not really. mine weighed 5.7 lbs. I’ve had an 853 frame that weighs 4.5 lbs, so considering, this frame was £200 cheaper, an extra 1.2 lbs is not bad value in my opinion. And if you want a light bike, steel is not the way to go anyhow…

Anyway, mines gone now. It will be missed, but SS’ing is not for me anymore.

    Where’s my Alpine…..

Yep I used a spanner on mine, and I’ve never had the EBB creak which is nice.

Only possible downside I have on mine is there is some bubbling around the cable guides which could be rust, I haven’t check it properly tho as that would involve cracking a lot of mud off it.

By the Power of Greyskull I do resurrect this thread!

Any more opinions and comments on Love/Hates? Specifically:

    1. What’s the longest fork you can get away with…? I’ve always had good times by putting slightly longer forks on frames that were meant for 100mm forks and wonder if this’ll be the same.

    2. Is the ride/EBB/tubing/build worth the extra cash over a slot-dropout “you-know-what”?

    3. Any more photos of builds?

    4. Any medium/17.5″ frame-onlies for sale? (‘Cause obviously that would be glowing praise!)

    Cheers!
