Hello – short and no doubt stupid question: if I have a 27.2 mm seatpost, will the Hope 28.6 mm clamp fit? (They don’t have anything smaller, and I’m guessing the clamp needs to be a little bigger than the post).

    Thanks in advance.

    Don’t think so,you’ll need a 32mm clamp.

    Best to measure your frame.
An aluminium frame will have thicker walled tubes than a steel one for example, so will use a bigger clamp for the same size seat post.

Depends what frame it is, we have three bikes with 27.2 posts, all use a different size clamp

Steel frame I would say somewhere around 30mm. Have you checked to see if the size has been stamped on the clamp, sometimes on the inside?

    A quick google suggests it’s 30.
