way too much faffage in the morning.

only way is to get the butler to do it while you snip off a loaf.

    that’s why it’s a toffs breaky.

    “toffs breaky” lol.

They’re smoked so require little cooking, only heating through, method immaterial IMO.

big tall jug, put kippers in and pour boiling water in, cover with a plate and leave for 6-7 mins, then pour out the water and eat 🙂

Might need to do the boiling water bit again after 5 mins if you have lots of kippers in the jug or if they are really fat ones.

Stops the kitchen smelling of kippers if you do it this way.

As above, they don’t really require cooking since they are smoked. Just warming up.

Traditional method is to cover in hot water for a few mins.

Wish I had some now. Mmmmmm

    always grill them…

to stop the burps = bread with something sweet; jam honey etc

How do you get rid of the lingering smell? After I’ve had kippers it always smells like Colleen Rooney has been visiting…..

Seriously, this is one of the few things a microwave does really well.

Baking in the oven works well. As mentioned above you just need to heat them up so keeping the oven/grill door closed helps with the smell.

Serve with brown toast, proper butter and fresh coffee.
