easy nick cheap spacer and cog on the back a middle ring on front (normally need short chainring bolts but you can use a bash or like i did some washers from b and q to take the slack up of too big bolts. and a tensioner on the back too. oh and a cheap ss chain i use kmc normally at about 7 quid

use your old middle ring and a cheap kmc ss chain the rest from superstar is 20 quid or charlie the bike monger does some lovely stuff if you feeling flush 😉

As above your SS [ IMHO] should never be bling and be cobbled together with bits you own but have never sold and are just lying aroung …oh yes and a 14 inch [matt black] frame borrowed from your 6 ft 2 mate who may want it back one day.
Cheap to do to convert current bike about 20- 50 depending on degree of bling.

    What a load of cobblers.

An SS built out of all your old shit, will be, er…shit! Why would you want to ride such a bike comprised of your old cast-offs and worn out detritus that was too worn to be ridden on any of your other bikes?

Perhaps I've not read the Forum rules on SS construction or something?
