I'm in Cheshire over Xmas and fancy doing Snowdon in winter conditions while they're there. Saw the BBC story about numpties in tracksuits so I can imagine it's pretty much full on winter up there. I've 20+ Munros, all in winter conditions under my belt, I'm not a newbie and will be taking axe, crampons, bivvy bag etc.

I'm wondering just what the mountain will be like and also the roads in – I would normally come across on the A55 and down past Llyn Ogwen and down to Penypass. I was thinking Pyg track up and down.

If you aren't aware, people (plural) die every year trying to walk down the cloggy railway track which banks over with snow

Pyg track is fine, just a bit of path ice nearer the top
