Anyone like to take a punt as to whether the phrase “recreational mountain biking” that they describe in their adventure pack would cover something like the Trans Provence Tour. Non-competitive and guided, but on (I hope) some pretty hardcore singletrack, and in some remote locations.

Or does “recreational” mean the canal towpath…?

    Thanks!

Not sure yet – we just asked Columbus almost the same question about a trip to Pyrenees. Got a reasonable email back asking for more info to run by the underwriter – exact region, guided or solo, experience etc. Just awaiting their reply.

Had a similar discussion with Dogtag the other year – XC vs downhill mtb. The vague maybe-maybe not response (for Austrian Alpine XC) from their MD now seems to appear on their FAQ. Think we ended up using their downhill option to cover all bases (e.g. high mtn XC with occasional uplift).
