Just went out for a ride, and my DX light turned itself off for no apparent reason, then spent the rest of the ride turning itself off and on at 10-15 second intervals. I've already had to replace the battery for the MJ-828 version which is weather sealed, and now the light itself is knackered. Totally unresponsive to the clicky at the back, and un-plugging and plugging back in has no effect. I went for a very wet and muddy ride on Sun, and I think it may have got damp.
So can I swap out the driver for something different and re-use the housing? Or would it be better to give it up and buy a new light to work with the 8.4V battery I already have?
Suggestions welcome. Cheapest solution that provides a reliable fix is what I'm after.
