I've just received my new steed today, however on opening the box, I've noticed that there's a 1 cm 'nick' in the lacquer coat of the bars, Not sure how deep but not massively.

I've told my vendor and sent pics, however I need to ride (as a TCL) on Tuesday and I doubt I'll get a new bar before then.

How much 'nick' is acceptable:

If you're sure it's just the lacquer coat then it won't be a problem.

I'd still be after a replacement though, new bike and all.

As it's not sliced into the carbon. Surface scratch on the lacquer won't hurt. I've got plenty on mine. Like stuartie said, it's a new bike and shouldn't be damaged!
