  • Canti’s on my Pompino rear end – how?

    Evening all,

Finally gonna build up the pomp for its comuting and general road purposes. I have a set of canti’s to go on it. Front end is no problem as I have a cable stop/headset spacer. Rear end is gonna prove tricky though. I’ve got a neat little bit that can be bolted onto the frame:

But there’s nowhere to bolt this on on the wishbone stays.

    Any ideas?
    Cheers.

    Rear Cable Hanger For Cantis

Its a hanger that fits on the seat collar bolt between the pinch flanges of the seat tube opening.

    Quick update and PSA.
Just taken delivery of a new white 120mm pompino for a mate.
I ordered the canti hangers (front and back) from OnOne.

    http://www.on-one-shop.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww.on-one-shop.co.uk%2f&WD=hanger%20canti&PN=Online_Catalogue_Hangers_351.html%23aBSRCH#aBSRCH

The new frames come with a new frame canti hanger fitting

so the extra one I ordered is surplus to requirement.

The front one fits on the steerer.

Cheers for the update. I ended up using a Surly hanger. After trying a number of clamps I finally found that the on-one clamps have enough of a gap between them to do up tight enough before they clamp the clamp.

Stoner – it used to be the case that the larger sized pomps had a canti hanger welded on, while the smaller ones didnt. Might be useful for others to mention what size your is?

Odd, my blue pomp XL came with a welded hanger. Must be a 'rolling improvement plan' 😆

While ive got you stoner, what gear ratio do you use on yours usually? (an on your epic trip!)

Epic trip was 49:20 free (67")
Currently 49:18 free for going to the pub or down to my parents (c.10 mile trips around Malverns – a few sharp hills), occasionally 49:18 fixed. (73")
Have just fitted a 16 fixed to it to have a go at improving a poor local TT time I did the other day (82")

EDIT: our Pomps w bought as full bikes – I dont think they did many of them and Im guessing they used a different frame batch as the bikes were assembled out East I think then shipped in.

    67"? Yikes!

I can just manage 70" on moderatley hilly stuff but bail to under 60" when fully loaded. Respect to MrsStoner!

guitarmanjon, in your first post you have a pic of a brake hanger. Where did you get it from? I have wanted one for ages but cannot find one anywhere.

    Thanks,
    Adam
