  • Cannondale CX frames, any good?

I know very little about CX frames, other than an aluminium cannondale is likely to be lighter than the steel one I have at the moment. Any quirks or things to look out for?

I would be buying a complete bike with a view to chopping and changing spec.

had a look/go on the caadx 105 and really like it, the 56cm was spot on for me at 6foot. it has rack/guard bikes so figured it would be great for commuting, cx races and general road riding (i’m not really a roadie). good looking frame/fork combo as well – the tyres look pretty bad though. in the end i couldn’t really afford the £1000 price tag so i’m building up a 2nd hand jake the snake in the meantime

i owned a cannondale cx bike a few years ago.
    extremely rigid and uncomfy.
i was probably using it for the wrong thing tho……….as a touring frame.
    very lightweight tho.

interesting… I was going to be using it at some point or another for a bit of touring with a trailer on the back. Sure a nice ti seatpost will soften it up!
