    Bumper on my car is getting scratched from the bikes going in and out,was wondering whether it would be advisable to do so and if anyone else has done so ?

    Should be fine – you can get similar to protect car body work from stone chips etc…

    Halfords sell something from foliatec that is designed for just this sort of thing.
    Unfortunately it's usually in the chav car bits section.
