    Hi all,

I am upgrading from 1×9 to 1×10 and wondered if the above change would give me similar low gear, but a bit more higher gear. I’ve looked at the Sheldon Brown calculator etc. but the numbers don’t mean much to me to be honest.

Would a 33t give me a bit more each way or would difference be minimal?

    Many thanks.

34 / 36 is ever so slightly higher then 32 / 34, but you would never notice

34 / 11 is higher gear then 32 / 11 and will be a difference you would notice (the difference would be similar to your two highest gears now)

a 33 could be just what you’re after, but remember that you can’t get a thick/thin 33er (or any odd number for that matter*)

(unless you live in the 4th dimension)

Thanks for the replies, that helps. Yes, was looking at the Raceface thick/thin in 34, or a Renthal in 33, paired up with a KMC chain.
