I’ve sorted myself out with a roadrat frame (from the classifieds!) – I’m planning on using it for mainly road use, but would like to be able to do tow paths, brideways etc. so nothing too hard and I won’t be racing or anything like that.

The only good thing on my current road bike is the wheels, bonty race lites, so to save money I quite fancy putting those on the new bike, and just getting some cheap wheels for that one (cos it’ll probably just sit on the turbo) and putting the bonty ones on the new bike.

Will they be up to the job if I stick some CX tyres on?

And my road bike is 9 speed (yeah, yeah I know…) – do road/CX bikes work the same as mountain bikes in that the hub will be compatible with both 9 and 10 speed?

My knowledge suggests that the answer to both these questions is yes but I just wanted to be sure before I start spending money! 🙂

    All help greatly appreciated!
