It seems fun doesn't it? My dad had John Cleese for a while on his, but y'now, after a while it just got tedious, having the miserable bell-end do clearly bored Basil Faulty impressions for what must have been a fat fee.

How can having Brian Blessed in the car with you EVER be tedious? 😆

Problem is that he would never say 'Gordon's Alive!!' so a little pointless in my opinion 😉

A friend of my sisters won a competition to be the TomTom voice in Ireland. To be sure.

last i heard, Brian hadn't done the voice-over – you can't get it.

i joined a facebook pressure group – the main dude talked to TomTom, and to Brian, and was having some success.

TomTom said they liked the idea, but wouldn't do anything about it until the facebook group got big enough.

    but i don't think anything's happened yet…

(add your name to the group – it can only help)

    linky to Brian-nav prototype

edit: it seems it has happened – it's released in October! – this is the greatest day of my life!

He doesn't say "Gordon's alive" but I've been told he does say "Gordon's arrived" when you get to your destination.

My favourite ever Have I got news for you episode is the one hosted by Brian.

He was off his head on that show. Masterclass.

I don't own a sat nav but that could actually tempt me.

Or maybe not. I lose count of how many times a day someone blames a problem on following a sat nav. They really to seem to be a lobotomy in a box.

I'm with you on that one, none of the regulars could get a word in 🙂

We live on a street 3 years old. People still phone us completely perplexed when the satnav won't recognise the postcode. They can't explain it.

It's a f**kin new build, isn't it you moron! The country is full of bloody new builds, surely you must have seen this before?! Grr.

Had a funny conversation with the kids recently trying to decide what voice they'd like to liven up the journey.

After much discussion the winner was Ned Flanders.

Er, not as far as I know!
It's the name of the voice file for the lady with the soothing Irish accent on my TomTom.

I reckon BB would be awesome.

In the meantime I'm listening to the very foxy Emma on my iPhone CoPilot – almost makes me want to carry on driving, especially through residential areas with lots of turns 😯

Hmm, "Gordon's arrived" made me smile and then I thought about how funny it would be after the 10th time and I'd have to agree.

😆 I recently watched the movie again……and after all these years I thought 'maybe it could be one of those 'it was good at he time'….however I still laughed/loved it and slipped into their slow-pace 😀

I think it's Emma I've got on my Copilot app. If I had a 'celebrity' voice on there, then I'd want someone like Julia Bradbury, a nice, warm, calm voice. A loud excitable one would drive (ha!) me to distraction. Literally.

"Aw, Christ, we've got to go and see Molgrips again"
    "Jesus"
    "Yep"
"I know, let's tell him we're not coming because we can't find his house"
    "Nice one"

Holly from red dwarf. A soothing Irish accent would be dangerous.
