Ahhh, I wish I could ride my bike

out of interest how does their 'skill level' compare with the general population on here?
I can do the 'crikey this is tricky' face as well as they all did but seem to fall off a lot more whilst doing it.
I guess I'm trying to rate my crapness really. If they're 'average' on technical stuff then I'm worse than I thought...
Posted 6 months ago # -
@wwaswas - I could do all of that stuff easily. On foot.
Posted 6 months ago # -
They fall off coz it's generally twice as steep as it looks, and almost always greasy as hell. Average riders wouldn't go anywhere near half of those runs.
Posted 6 months ago # -
They got the skilz thats for sure.
Plus they're northern so that makes'em ok in my book

I aspire to be average so am left feeling that I may achieve my dream, one day.

Better than mine!

Quality riding lads!
wwaswas
I couldnt ride that stuff in my wildest dreams.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Aye, good skills, far better than me
Posted 6 months ago # -
They're good. I'm a bit crap . But then I guess, trying stuff, takin' the knocks and making it work at whatever level you ride all leads to the big grin.

We can all ride like that oop north. Honest! Its in our genes. After all: we're all actually related to each other, and the skillz come from the added balance we achieve through having 6 webbed toes

Not nearly enough knuckle-bumps and belly-bouncing for my liking.
(looks like a fantastic riding area btw)

even that hora chap?

Another good vid, nice one ton. You realise the STW purists will be frothing at the gash though, I saw coil shocks on trail bikes, body armour and at least one set of wide bars!
Posted 6 months ago # -
I would love to know where some of these routes are, I love the slower steep tricky stuff.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Very enjoyable, nice edit too, location?
Posted 6 months ago # -
All seems ok.
Some good riding and good fun to be had there.
Few nasty looking bits
Posted 6 months ago # -
Love that song! The 'trails' in the video, however, scared me.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Nice vid, the riding looks very "British"!

Only if the head angle on his current bike is within a minute of whatever NASA have calculated it should be.

looks like a great place to ride. Nothing like that on my local trails dahn saaf.
Posted 6 months ago # -
Is it Calderdale? Looks very Calderdale-ish.
We're spoilt rotten up here
Posted 6 months ago # -
that move at 2:16 has got bags of style.. awesome
Posted 6 months ago # -
thought the guy at 1:19 was going to bust both knuckles. Would love to go riding with them or the stanage lads*, I'd be apologising for slowing them down and walking all the routes but would love to get shown round and have a go. Thrutch-tech is where it's at
*no idea if they are the same group, I know they all seem to ride oranges
Posted 6 months ago # -
Proper gnarrrrrr face at 2.28 lol.
Posted 6 months ago # -
You're not actually allowed out on the trails around Yokshire or Lancashire unless you have at least one Orange Five in the group. FACT!
Posted 6 months ago # -
RandomJerry, did you see a couple of them were using Totems? 180mm for riding around the woods? Madness I tell you, madness!
Posted 6 months ago # -
How far 'oop north' is that?
I'm in Lancs, and would happily take on those trails
( On a bouncy Orange too! )
Posted 6 months ago # -
Excellent vid! Lovin' these sweary Northerners.
Is an Orange Five compulsory oop North?
Posted 6 months ago # -
There's about a 50/50 split up here CG. Orange 5's and everything else
Posted 6 months ago # -
But Orange's are pretty hefty aren't they? No fun on the climbs surely?

Very first trail I did after I bought mine was that one at 3:00
[Pedant] We had 5 folk riding that day and only 2 were on Orange Fives I'll have you know!!!
The other 3 comprised 2 Divas and an Alpine 160 though
[/Pedant]Lots of stuff that I don't recognise in there too though. Bunny Run?
Good work. Keep 'em coming JimBobTed

They're no heftier than most full sussers really . As you can tell from the terrain, race whippet carbon, short-travel stuff ain't much use to you up here. All northern blokes are hefty too. Its genetic. We're big boned, therefore we have to live off pies and pints

I'm in Lancs
Then it'll probably be marginally darn sarf for you!

Totally unnecessary too. I ride the same 'trails' on my hard tail with 80mm forks
