LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening
The Fall - Your future, our clutter
But expecting Arcade Fire to blow everything else into the weeds in a few short weeks time. Fingers crossed...
I just checked Fabio Capello's iPod. There's no Plan B.

I Am Kloot - Sky At Night
Revolver Soul - Alabama 3!

Saw both bands live in the same week and both rocked to an almost exactly equivalent pitch of awesome.

Gil Scott-Heron - I'm New Here
Four Tet - There is love in you

I.D. & Baobinga - Bass Music Sessions (free download)
Jack Johnson
Went to check out that Alabama 3 album on Spotify. Track listing - looks good, put the headphones in OH GOD WHAT IS THAT THERE? EMERGENCY REMOVAL OF HEADPHONES. It looks like it says 'Johnny Borrell' on that there track. Oh god, it really does.
2 girls 1 cup has nothing on seeing Johnny Borrellend's name on the track of an album you're about to listen to.

You should try this obscure thing called "The Internet". Also known as "The World Wide Web". You'll find a fair bit of music on there. No-one will tell you what to like, which could be a problem.
Well I rather like the new(ish) Gorillaz and Faithless albums.
Apologies if anyone's heard of them though - I have no imagination
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy and the Cairo Gang - The Wonder Show of the World.
Danny & The Champions of the World - Streets of Our Time.
Gil Scott-Heron - I'm New Here
Four Tet - There is love in you
Another vote for them, great albums plus
gorillaz, the fall and hot chip
Just wondering how many folks here are aware of Hume's definition of an aesthetic judgement and if so, how many here are actually in a position to make one ?
A thread title of music you like rather than "best" might be more appropriate.
Of course those who are in a position to comment can carry on as normal
I just checked Fabio Capello's iPod. There's no Plan B.Good job. It's shite.
-1. Its great. better than the other guff in the charts.
Sage Francis - Life is my favourite of the year so far
better than the other guff in the charts
Which charts?
See, all those who seem to object to "obscure" or "underground" music, or whatever you want to call it.. look here http://boomkat.com
An online music store. The front page. I've only heard of 4 or 5 of the artists. There is SO MUCH music around, why does it upset/annoy/whatever you that you haven't heard of stuff?? Incomprehensible attitude.
LCD album was ever so slightly disappointing for me. Just not as good as the last one, still liked it but feels a bit formulaic now.
Ditto Crystal Castles, which lacks the hypnotic weirdness of their debut. I saw them live, they were alright but Heaven is an awful venue.
Four Tet album is impressive, but not sure if it really hits home as either spoddy-glitchy laptop music or dance music.
I suppose nothing's really blown me away yet that was released in 2010, but I'll check out some of the above recommendations.
