I’ve had a beard in one form or another since my late 20’s. For the last five years I’ve had a full, long beard. Woke up this morning with a snotty toddler attached to my face. Just felt dirty and messy.

Lopped the beard off and now keep scaring myself when I walk passed reflective surfaces. I look like a cross between Casper the Friendly Ghost and Robocop without his helmet. Mrs Funkmaster keeps staring at me and Jr keeps asking “daddy, where beard go”

That was a bit extreme. Couldn’t you have left a tiny nose wipe for Jr?

That is, or rather was, a seriously impressive beard. I cannot claim anywhere near the same level of hirsuteness but I’m too scared to get rid of my beard (it’s been hiding my crap chin for about the last 20 years now).

My chin is fatter than it was the last time I saw it. That was an unpleasant surprise.

Now that is/was a proper beard!

I’ve often fancied experimenting with the Michael Eavis style head-on-upside-down look, which you’ve managed with such aplomb, but whenever I have even the hint of stubble I am forcefully reminded that if I do, I’ll be single 😥

Regret will set in soon – that beard was magnificent. It should have been given a proper send off, not cast aside on a whim!

Current issue in my house is fiancee wants to see my chin before we get married – had the beard for 20 years now. Kids don’t want me to shave it off… last year I shaved my head instead, didn’t go down to well with either party 😆

Funk Jr just keeps running over, pointing at my face and laughing. Walked up Teggs Nose earlier (local hill) and it was nice to feel the wind on my face. Although I missed the manly beard wafting in the breeze. I’m in for a world of good natured abuse at work in the morning..

Don’t do it! My chin is twice as big as I remember it being. There could be anything under your face carpet.

Grow it back – only a little longer than it was and you can do a hipster comb over of the top knot 😀

Inspired by this thread, I’ve just gone clean shaven – first time in 6 months. Feels great.
