  • BB Threading – Italian or British – how do I tell?

My road bike, a 2008 Scott CR1, needs a new bottom bracket. I was about to get one from Merlin but the item page offers British Standard and Italian threading. I have no idea which I need.

    Any tips?

scott will be ISO / British threading but to double check Italian b.b shells are 70mm and ISO 68 mm.

It will be British. Only Italian frames, and mostly older ones at that, have italian threaded bbs IME.

British BB left and right hand threads.
Italian BB right hand threads on both sides.
