They also do seasonal ales. Hopping Hare which is around now has a similar crisp / refreshing kick to the Golden Glory. Quite like the seasonality idea.
all the badger stuff is good, even the nettle stuff, lemony snicket is my least fave, but they all taste better on tap from a pub in dorset rather than from a bottle
I do like some of yer golden ales, I must say. If you haven’t already, you must try Pure Gold from Itchen Valley. Brewed by an STWer, no less, Singletrackmind off here, and winner of ‘Best Beer’ at the Big Bike Bash two years running. Ask WCA, he will tell you.
No seriously, if you like yer golden ales, then it’s a winner.
Spent a lot of my youth trying to avoid Badger Beer pubs in Salisbury but they’ve definitely turned things around over the last few years.
Got back from a glorious day at Cannock Chase last Thursday and had my first taste of Golden Glory – a perfect Summer evening beer but I’m not sure I’d want to have more than 1 or 2. My wife spoiled things a bit when she said it smelled like Archers though!
On the topic of good ale I still can’t recommend these beers from the Thornbridge Brewery highly enough:
Both a bit strong for sessioning…possibly!
They’ve also started a Pilsner, (which I know is taboo in most Real Ale threads) but this is far tastier than the usual fizzy fare…
