Kawasaki Er6f gets my vote. Great torque for commuting.
I have the Ninja 650 which is just the same bike, with zx10 styling, and reworked suspension.
It handles brilliantly, I get 160 miles to a tank normal riding, 140 if I’m thrashing it (100 mph+) on the motorway.
Tyres are absolutely gash though in the wet, Dunlop D214’s. They have been replaced with Michelin Pr4’s.

After a couple of weeks of commuting up and down the A9 and not really enjoying the noise and wind, I took it for a “leisure ” ride today. What a difference! I’m now getting used to leaning it, using the throttle, braking and, best of all, that lovely feeling when you hit a hump in the road and everything goes light.

The V-twin is great for not being too fussed about my gear choice too. 😀

I think it’ll be some time (if ever) before I’m back to being as comfortable on a bike as I used to be but I’m definitely getting there.
