Genuine question, not a moan.
mrs julian has ordered a frame, paid £500 up front and rest organised via the shop's finance. Their (in my experience very accurate) website showed it as in stock when she rang up to order, she was then quoted 2-3 weeks as they and the distributor were out of stock. The shop took her £500 and 2 weeks after the order was placed she rang up to ask, now they say more like another 6-8 weeks.
Neither of us have ever ordered anything that wasn't in stock and despatched straight away. Is it usual for the shop to be sat on £500?
-On the one hand i though you weren't supposed to be charged on debit card transactions until goods were dispatched.
-On the other hand the shop doesn't want to order in a grand's worth of frame only to find customer has changed mind. (mind you, shop in question is massive and shifts tons and tons of the brand in question).
Your thoughts please.
