    According to the article on the front page of this very website, entitled Shimano XTR 2011

    Chain: £44.95

    Cassette: £179

    Brakes: Around £179 a wheel

    Chainset: £399

    Front mech: £70-90

    Hubs: £99/£199

    Rear mech: £139

    Shifters: £149

    Wheels; £369/£449

    Making it an X.0 rival (in weight as well as price) rather than XX, may have thought they'd have 'aimed higher'.

    £358 for those gorgeous looking brakes?! That's not terribly expensive! Obviously could stick with my current ones and buy 35,800 penny sweets for that much….

    About £114.00 for the rear mech, get them for about £70-£80.

    current XTR mech is useless, the carbon plates constantly get damaged/ break and ive got loads of pivot slop after about 18months 🙁
