Did you take it in a bag or cardboard box?

Web site says box but I dont have one and I was wondering if I would be able to take it in a bike bag.

    Cheers

We took them last year in cardboard boxes, Ricb was with us and took his in a bag, no issues either way – they do weigh them though and were giving dire warnings about having packed anything other than your bike in there (which we were somewhat worried about having stuffed ours full of pads, shoes etc as well as bike – but they didn't actually do anything about it).

I spoke to their call centre just the other night about this. The response was basically "Oh, they do proper bike bags? Like suitcases for bikes? Well obviously that's even better."

Watch the sizes though, they're not generous, some bags are bigger than the maximum height. They did say they exercise discretion, ie if it's 2 inches too tall but shorter in the other dimensions that's fine, but just a verbal confirmation.

I'll be using a bag myself anyhoo.

Now I just have to worry about the weight limit!
