thats his next trick. You should see what he can do with a crown cap.

I was just cleaning it, officer, and it went off in my hand.

Always leave the screw cap on otherwise you’ll create a vacuum pump which will rip out your guts.

    Just sayin’ like.

That’s just bad planning, if they had shown more commitment and inserted the bottle the other way around they would have been able to help themself to a tasty beverage whilst waiting to be seen.

Just don’t shake it before taking the top off.

Or is it a bit like a DIY coffee colonic irrigation?

To be fair flashy, at least you wouldn’t have to try and make an excuse up with a rubber vibrating cock.

Is it concerning that the pt in the first X-ray has had their hip replaced?

Perhaps the surgeon forgot to take it out?

That’s why they slipped, because of their dodgy hip!

To be fair – the person with the bottle up them appears to only have had half their hip done. Just the ball, not the socket.

    They’re female btw.

It’s the unfixed fracture on the left rather than the hemiarthroplasty on the right I’d be more worried about.

(An A&E doc if that’s any help – e-mail in profile)

Sent you an email Dr Death

dr_death – is it fractured or just the way the person is lying? Does the leg not tend to rotate outwards when the NOF is broken?

Looks more like OA than a fracture to me. But you’re the expert.

Dr Death, call yourself a doc, you missed the inserted object 🙂

Oh jees, do we need another expert now, shall I ask Mrs FD’s opinion, she’s san orthopaedic surgeon, but im sure she will agree that this (female) has inserted some thing where it shouldn’t go. She might get technical about hips too 🙁

the inserted object is quite clearly photoshopped (it’s a plastic bottle, plastic is radiolucent….)

(I also clearly need to get out more)

Just because it had to be photoshopped, doesn’t mean it wasn’t there. Quack. 🙂 x

Dr Death ah bugger I knew there was a reason why I became an NHS accountant and left the doctoring to Mrs FD

Edit: OP I know lots of stuff about A&E tariff and cost if that would help answer your questions? Email me

Has to be said the x-ray is too bollocks to be certain but the neck on the left certainly looks shorter c.f. the right and Shenton’s line looks all to pot. Needs a lateral….

    Dr death.

I was talking about you just the other day. It still cheers me up when I remember you tracking me down in hospital and the nurse asking who you were 🙂

For the record it’s a total hip not a hemi…

jet26 – how can you tell? Surely even a metal on polyethylene one would show up more than that on an x-ray.

Was gonna say the acetabular component’s **** then…. Small enough head for a THR I suppose, long time since I did orthopaedics
