Clue is in the title really, fancy a HT project possibly to coincide with Boardman on C2W as a donor although the change in C2W rules may have put the kybosh on that one.
Nonetheless the simplicity of an on-one appeals, along with the nice photo thread the other week.
What's the difference, have I committed a big faux-par as they're basically the same bike. Someone help me?
I love my inbreds, hated the 456 I had and the summer season I've ridden.

inbred for wheels on the ground 456 for wheels off the ground. it takes a bigger fork and the top tube is the same diameter as teh down tube IIRC. I've one for sale if you fancy it?
depends what you want to do with it! If the donor parts were coming off one of the boardman hardtails, I'm thinking you should be thinking about an inbred - as it will suit the 100mm forks off the boardman better.
Unless you like the "steel is real" mantra, I am sure you could get a nice looking and lighter alloy frame for similar money.
My inbred weighs more than my full suss which was a bit surprisiing. They ride nice but have to be pretty bling to be lightish.
However, if weight is not an issue than the inbred is a good buy.
I'm enjoying my 456 more than any bike I've owned at present. Great fun.
My brother has an Inbred, we ride the same terrain and both bikes cope.
He's running some 140 forks on the Inbred.

those boardman frames are meant to be pretty good - personally I'd ride one of them for a couple of weeks before deciding if the frame needs an upgrade or not.
I'd start with riding the bike!

Original inbred 100mm forks
456 100-160mm forks
summer season 130 mm forks and heavier/tougher tubing.
I ride the summer and love it
IME the inbred is happy at 100mm and just-about-fine up to 120mm
456 and SS are the same in terms of fork length (100 - 150mm)
SS just has a slacker head angle (67.5 vs 69.5)
personally I didn't didn't like the slackness of the SS (old BMxer you see)
I've owned/ridden them all
I ran my SS with a 140 van but too slack for steep techy climbs. Now running a Pike at 130 at its real sweeeet.
