There’s a 3d printed frame on display in the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry. Cant remember who manufactured it but it was some one local to Manchester.

There is a second revolution in 3D printing going on at the moment.

That one can print with carbon fibre and fibre glass so it can make much tougher products than existing 3d printers.

And this one can print electronic circuits:

    Interesting times 😀

Wouldnt it be good to integrate the two ideas above, hard wire a bike to take electronic shifting, power meters, lights etc internally. All you have to do is attach a battery somewhere and a light / gears at the other end.

    Ideal!

never used the CAD stuff behind these.
but was thinking it’d be cool to be able to scale the design for infinitely customisable bike sizing.
but get that wrong, and you’ll end up with 649b wheels, 141×11 axle, and need to file down the BB so it’s a Pressfit29.

the “like” wood analogy is interesting, 3d printed cardon fibre radio model aircraft/boats would be quite fun, just replace the balsa. be a must have for a rc model car nut.
