    Do they generally fit? dumb ass question I know. I have a race that takes in sections of unmade road and wide section tyres are recommended. Of course the rest of the race is on good tarmac.

    I had a 28’s in the rear of my tcr advanced sl,

    A Pinarello? Not a chance… 25’s would be a struggle.

    Plenty of more modest race bikes with bigger clearance should be able to fit them ok though I’d say.

    Yes, most road bikes accept a 28c. It’s generally the top size for road frames and in the UK is a very sensible choice!

    It’s what some of the pros will be running over the cobbles in the spring classics too

    Just ride your cross bike and just speak Flemish.
    My road bike won’t take 24s without rubbing.

    28c fits in a spesh dolce elite with about a mm to spare, if that helps in any way?

    if it’s from the 60’s, 70’s or 80’s then yes…
