    I've inherited a couple of random 180mm rotors off a mate, and was thinking of upgrading the 160mm rotors on the front of both my bikes. One's running '06 XT, the other '7 Deore.

    Before I go an buy the adapter kits, are there any compatibility issues between rotors from different manufacturers of brakes? Will any 180mm rotor fit any caliper with a suitable adapter kit? I've got a hunch they're probably fine, but I thought I'd check the STW hivemind first…

    you should be fine as most rotors are the same thickness.
