The UCI World Cup Downhill kicks off in Fort William this weekend. As the world’s best downhill and 4X riders head to the Highlands of Scotland, us at Singletrack will be following them, making our annual pilgrimage to the land of midges and deep fat frying.
This year we’ll be doing things a bit differently and we’ve created a special site exclusively for our Fort William World Cup coverage. You can find that at:
It’s going to be the source for news from the event, and whether you’re actually present or simply following from afar, we’ll be hard at work packing it with results, mini-features, galleries and hourly updates starting from Friday onwards.
To keep you occupied in the meantime we’ve recapped last year’s events along with a gallery from our very own Sim. We’ve also got features on riding the World Cup Course for mere mortals and the perils of Scotland’s wee hings.
As you may guess from the address, the site is designed to work perfectly on mobile devices. If you’re on an iOS device then you can even save it to your home screen and use it as a Web App.
Exclusively for mobile device users of our Fort William site, we’re giving away a free copy of Singletrack Magazine Issue 73. You’ll need an ePub reader installed to be able to get it though, eg iBooks if you’re on a iPhone.
Don’t forget to follow our Singletrack at Fort William Twitter feed for live updates from the race – perfect if you can’t make it to a proper computer or the event itself.
If you’re coming to the event then we’ll be based in the Digital Hub, so drop by and say hello…
