Laps and Loops: Is It Time To Rethink Trail Centre Designs?

Dave Evans from Bike Corris has previously written extensively on ‘wild trails’ in Wales – it’s all well worth reading, and his latest paper is no different. ‘Evolving The Trail Centre – Lessons From Wild Trails‘ looks at the difference between trail centre designs and what people build when left…

Bust one? Lost one? Never had one? Need one? Here’s what to look for in a decent shock pump that won’t let you – or your suspension – down.

From Dangerous Sport to Fun Activity – Reframing Mountain Biking

I was recently asked to give a presentation on โ€˜Image and Mountain Bikingโ€™, as part of an event held by Ride Sheffield under the topic โ€˜Reframing Mountain Bikingโ€™. The event brought together a range of people from brands, media, trail associations and the MTB industry to consider what the mountain…

In short, he has boundless enthusiasm for all things bike. Heโ€™s also a bit of a socially conscious punk environmentalist, so heโ€™s probably a bit rubbish if your bike shop is one of those glittering concept store type places where it doesnโ€™t smell of rubber and GT85 (Or WD40). Luckily for him, and us, he works at our local social enterprise bike shop, and weโ€™ve talked him into bringing us a few of his more ingenious and interesting fixes, alongside whatever commentary he might like to get off his chest. We hope you enjoyโ€ฆ

Red Bull Rampage: Wish You Were There?

You may have heard people say things like ‘Rampage is too groomed these days, it’s getting too easy’, or ‘It’s just tricks, it’s not mountain biking’. Alternatively, there’s the ‘It’s too dangerous, someone will get killed’ camp. Some of my colleagues are among them. Me? I think I’ve actually come…
