Spotted At Sea Otter: Freaks, Geeks and Retro Bikes

Sea Otter is a bike expo and festival of racing that takes place in Monterey, California each year. We didn’t make the trip over there for 2023, but our US correspondent Fahzure Freeride dropped in to catch up with bicycle peeps of the world. He’s snapped you this collection of bikes on his way round. If you’re a bike nerd and get the chance to make the trip over for it, it’s worth doing – there are show ponies and retrobikes all over the place. Plus a few freaks.

Here are some of the bikes he snapped in between servings of free macaroni cheese and churros. I’m warning you now: they’re mostly not mountain bikes.

Know Your Trail Users

Charlie takes a light hearted look at the wonderful variety of people we share the trails with. Itโ€™s that time of year again when the clocks go forward, the sun comes out and at 10am precisely on the first sunny Sunday your peaceful and uncrowded trails will suddenly be awash…

Mental Mondays #6

Hannah is the designer of this week’s tricky prize crossword. It’s a pretty cryptic one this week. Mark hates cryptic clues and failed miserably at this one. Amanda however, stormed this in no time at all. My tip is that you need to have a good understanding of your trick…
