Pivot Launches The New Vault – Now It Does Gravel

by 0

When the original Pivot Vault was launched, a half dozen years ago, there wasn’t really such a thing as ‘gravel’ riding or racing as such, so the original Vault was pitched as a cyclocross bike.

In the intervening years, the world of gravel riding and racing has exploded and cyclocross bikes have returned more to their very specialist corner of the bike racing world. Meanwhile, one-by components, thru-axles and disc brakes have taken over the gravel world, and so this new Pivot Vault reflects what has been going on.

The Pivot Vault will take front derailleurs. Remember them?

The new Pivot Vault will fit tyres up to 700 x 45C, or 650B x 47mm (27.5 x 2.oin for those watching in black and white) and runs disc-brakes only. The transmission can be configured to run regular (old school) front derailleur 2 x 11 gears, Di2, or newer 1x road systems.

The front mech mount is removable and sealed with a cover.

The bike features the Pivot-developed BB386EVO for big tyre clearance

The seatpost features ‘Isoflex’ mounting which helps isolate the rider from trail buzz with a 27.2mm post, or the insert can be swapped for a 30.9mm sleeve to work with (more) dropper posts.

The bike will take 700 x 47mm tyres – or a 2.0 mountain bike tyre on a 27.5 rim.

The new Pivot Vault will be available through Upgrade. UK pricing is confirmed as:

  • £2800 Frameset
  • £5000 “Pro Ultegra” bike with Ultegra 8000 (mechanical shifting) and Alloy wheels
  • £6400 “Team Force” bike with Force AXS and carbon wheels
