Eurobike 2015: Norco Threshold and Search

by 0

Appropriately named for their pursuits, Canadian based Norco is showing off their new collection of cyclocross and adventure bikes. The Threshold, with its more aggressive geometry, is said to be tested on the trails and proven on the racecourse.

The aluminum Threshold shares many of the same design features as its more expensive carbon counterparts.

The five bike Threshold series covers a variety of price points from the SORA-equipped version at 899 euros to the decked out Force 1 build at 4,999 euros. The Threshold A (105 and SORA builds available) sports an X6 double butted aluminum disc frame while the higher-end models utilize Mid-Mod and High-Mod (Threshold SL) carbon. The Threshold frames are designed with size-scaled tubing to be lightweight for shouldering and stiff for pedaling.

Canada has some impressive wilderness expanses to explore, so developing an adventure bike was a natural fit for Norco. Their new Search is available in both aluminum and carbon, both capable of clearing a 40c tire. The geometry is based off their Valence and designed to enhance comfort over the long haul. Other notable features are the long wheel base for stability, rear thru-axle to optimize power transfer, universal internal cable routing for clean lines, and their ARC endurance system to minimize the impacts of vibration on your body.
