    Morning STW woodist collective.

I have inherited 2 double wheelie bin stores as thus:

    http://www.shawburygardencentre.co.uk/garden-sheds-and-storage/bin-stores/rowlinsons-double-bin-store

And have converted into woodstores – raised off ground etc. The wood roof isn’t too waterproof though, so my plan was to buy pond liner/epmd roofing off cuts and glue down. Difficult to follow the contours of the ridged roof with standard roof felt I was thinking. However, pond liner/epmd is coming in at circa £70 for a 4mx2m peice.

Any other suggestions to roof these properly? They’ll be visible from the kitchen diner so Mrs Beagle demands a proper job, that doesn’t look botched!!

    Any ideas all? Cheers!

I have something like this on my wood stores. Left over from the extension. Neat enough, keeps the rain off.

I’d just give it a couple of coats of Ducksback fence paint.

ive got corregated steel sheeting on mine – required a bit of cutting of the sheets to match my store footprint correctly but looks good.

Cheaper alternative could be corregated bitumen sheet?
    steel sheet

    bitumen sheet

edit: looking at your store pic – not much effort to raise the back to give you a straight line for a corregated roof

Not at all, Roof felt will be spot on.

I just used some old feather edge boards left over from fencing:

Weight of those tiles will buckle his woodstore

Straight boards on mine (I kept the design super simple). Angle of photo isn’t perfect, but you’ll get the idea. They’re just screwed down, no overlaps and no lining/waterproofing. The woodstore is on the lee side of the house, so very little in the way of wind driven rain and direct rain tends to just run off.

As with all these things, keep it simple!

ah, well. Didn’t think weight – I built mine out of some left over 2×4. They’re a bit sturdy…

For the roof of my wood store i put on a sheet of ply and roofing felt. Before i put the roofing felt on it i had thrown a tarp over the ply and it worked well enough.

+1 for roofing felt… Will take all of 5 minutes to apply..

I used some sheets of twin-walled clear plastic that a neighbour took off his conservatory. Then I covered them in roofing felt to improve the look.
