You should have seen the state of my bike after today’s ride. I dare not fit nice components.

Pate, you only need the bit that starts “http” and ends “.jpg”. What you’ve done is copy the html code from flickr. Under the “share this” tab, you should check the “BBCode” box & just copy and paste the text, rather than using the “IMG” tags on here.

Bling-bling (or simply bling) is a slang term popularized in hip hop culture, referring to flashy, ostentatious or elaborate jewelry and ornamented accessories that are carried, worn or installed, such as cell phones or tooth caps. The concept is mostly associated with rappers.

In the first years of the 21st century, a new meaning of the word has emerged in the form of a transitive verb pimp, which means “to decorate” or “to gussy up” (compare primp, especially in Scottish usage). This new definition was made popular by Pimp My Ride, an MTV television show.[2] Although this new definition paid homage to hip-hop culture and its connection to street culture, it has now entered common, even mainstream commercial, use.

Hmmmmm, I’m off to gussy up my ride . . . or I would if my blinkin’ parcels would arrive 😥

Oh and another vote for Sol’s Trek and the 951 here too 😛

It’s the little details that do it, Tune Prince/Princess hubs, full length Alligator i-links, every bolt that could be Ti is, pre-production Formula R1s (bit less bling now they are actually in production), etc.

Yes it has been ridden, but photo was taken before the first ride.

Something even more bling on it’s way (new bike thread to follow soon)

Yeah, I do need more Pics. I will sort some and upload them. I got the paint done at Argos. I spent ages with them discussing the colours and how to get the sparkley finish. They used the largest metal flake you can put through a paint gun onto a standard metalic colour, then double lacured on top. Looks different in different light. When the sunlight catches it just right it looks magic, in dull light it just looks emererald green.

Some people dont like the colour, but hey, its my bike and Im riding it 🙂

I have fallen off and scratched it, which hurt for about five mins.

It’s pretty much there after just over a year of constant tweaking. For trail days I use a set of Crossmax SXs. The nice touches are the Stoy shock. Ti spring, shockmount bolts, rotor bolts and brake mount bolts. NSB brake mounts, cane creek angleset, Straitline levers and Point 1 Podium pedals. I’m also loving the 745mm Sunline V1 bars.

Nothing with silly bars can be considered bling – that’s like putting a diamond on a tramp and saying that he’s bling 😉

Now sporting a slightly less gauche look, more functional though… and I’m happy to ride it in this guise as well, no fears of getting her muddy 🙂 Soon to be converted to a SS as well for additional simplicity and clean lines 8)

    My old 223:

    Resprayed in metallic Cherry Red
    Fox 40’s
    Saint cranks
    Hope 6 pot / 4 pot brakes
    Thomson seatpin
    King headset

Was the last new bike (or frame) that I bought, everything since has been secondhand. Sold a good few years ago and now replaced by the following ratty looking things:

Orange Patriot 66 / FR prototype

Sunday WC with uplift scratches galore

Chameleon in singlespeed mode (and yes, the saddle is too high – it got lowered about a minute after the shot)
