1992 Daewoo Nexia 🙂
Given to me by my cousin when her family expanded and they needed a five door car.
They live near a very rough pub and the customers used to regularly run over and kick all the cars in the street on their way home, so it doesn’t have a straight panel on it.
Mismatched mirrors, non functioning drivers window (after someone peeled the door back to nick my bike 😥 ) and the inside of the rear bumper has just collapsed after someone ran into it in Morrisons car park.
Synchromesh on fourth has packed in, as has the heated rear window.
Wiper motor sounds like it’s full of swarf and the drivers seat self-reclines on long journeys.
Radio still works though, and we can get two bikes and a couple of weeks worth of camping gear in the back easily.
It’s awful to drive – undersprung and no apparant damping – vague overassisted steering and mysterious random flatspots in the power.
The ‘Mohawk’ remoulds aren’t the grippiest in the wet either, which is a bit worrying as the ABS has packed up too.
It’s the 8 valve, not the 16, but still cruises noisily at 80 if your nerves can stand it.
Ms Spanner refuses to drive it. The Spannerettes refuse to be seen in it during the daytime.
I’ve put 40,000 miles on it in the past three years and all it’s needed is an alternator. If I can get it to 100,000 miles, I’ll be a very happy man.
It’s called Shedric and I love it to bits 😀
