Heading up north tomorrow till Saturday, was going to call at Whinlatter on the way up and then to Glentress, anyone been in the last couple of days. Am I better off taking sledges or snowboars instead.

It's very, very icy at the foot of Whinlatter Pass. In the woods will be rock hard, icy snow – haven't been up there for a week, but if you can get up there (which I doubt today) it will be unrideable.

Well it's minus 9C at Inners today and it was a hell of a lot colder than that last night. Ice and lots of snow at both Inners and GT.

Plenty place round peebles that you could snowboard if you want to walk up with your board. Where you go depends on how steep you want. My preference would be for the Southern Upland way at the other side of the valley from Innerleithen.
