I’m after some comfortable, non-chafing cycling shorts to wear underneath baggies (I don’t want to scare people with my enormous member).

    Any suggestions?

Endura are good, Assos are good, Castelli are good, DHB are good.

    What’s your budget?

My favourite ones are lusso pro gel
Bib ones for me but they make normal ones too
    And only about £45

    Decathlon ones are good too.

Decathlon ones with the orange pad work best for me.

How about these head turners 🙂

Pearl Izumi – comfy, well made and last forever. Can usually find deals on last year’s kit too at places like Cyclestore and Parkers. They do do a very good liner short too – I wear them under my Endura Singletacks. Oh – and they’re sensibly sized too…

    You’re just in time too!
Seriously, they’re great – the Decathlon ones are very good too.

Of course more expensive ones feel a bit better, but not THAT much better.

And don’t bother with the baggies – your an adult, covered in mud, riding a bike. You can’t look any dafter 😀
The baggies just make you look like you’re ashamed of something.

Wear these under my baggies. They’re really good.

    Lusso or DHB for price.

Get bibs though, much more comfy.

Pearl izumi do some mesh bibs for wearing under baggies.

Assos mille are by far the most comfortable shorts I have ever worn, but I find them a bit too slippery to wear baggies over the top.

You should be buying my Endura undershorts. They will make you ride like a God.

+ 1 for assos mille, very expensive but the comfort means i can sort of justify the price despite being a cheap bastard normally!

At the more budget range then lusso or decathlon. Used to like (and still do for other things they do) but recently not been impressed by their shorts – pad is thin and the lycra has a sheen to it that is pretty see through.

Hardly anyone seems to use Sugoi, but I think they’re great. Comfortable pad, well shaped panels and they last pretty well.

Never tried Assos, but I’ve done plenty of trips with back-to-back 16+ hour days in the saddle and Sugoi RS bibs have always worked well for me.
