    Not the soil, in this instance.

    I have a toilet with a boxed in cistern – Outlet is above the level of the soil pipe(~38mm), but also slightly offset (~46mm). There’s about 250mm between the outlets. I know the easy answer is ‘flexi’ but I’m trying everything I can to avoid that.

    A Picture:

    Today I’ve tried connecting two 45 degree elbows together, unfortunately the offset was too much. I could try and chain two 40mm McAlpine offset pan connectors together but they look restrictive enough as it is. I’m not willing to buy some ‘100mm offset pan connector’ from Amazon as they may fit, but the restriction is comically small. I really don’t want the cistern cupboard filling with poo.

    Anyone got any genius solutions? There seem to be multiple options in ‘below ground’ pipe at shallower angles like this, Is there any reason they can’t be used? Google suggests they aren’t UV stable, but it;ll be boxed in, so…

    PS username does not want to check out in this situation. KTHNXBY.

    The brown pipe is not uv stable as you say. Just means it fades in sunlight. Not an issue for you.

    You can also get adjustable bends you can set to any angle. Eg https://www.toolstation.com/adjustable-bend-110mm/p73512

    Lot of faffing around for what a flexi connector would do quick and easy, what’s the reason for avoiding flexi?

    Mcalpine offset pan con plus straight extension tube

    Avoiding clag drag on the flexi. It will be fine.

    Thanks @nickjb confirms what I thought 🙂 I tried one of the adjustable angle roofers but it was too long.

    @argee
    because everyone I’ve spoken to about them confirms my thoughts that having a load of ridges for turds to cling on to is a generally bad idea, plus the need to support it.

    @singletrackmind
    I couldn’t find one with enough offset, and there isn’t enough ‘give’ in the straight one I tried to make up the extra offset.

    Thanks y’all.

    How about 4 of these and see if the 5 degree misalignment (times 4) can be used to your advantage.  If you can move the toilet pan a bit, connect them all up and then persuade the pan back to it’s intended position! https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-rigid-straight-connector-white-107mm/17227

    This flexible joint might also give you some more movement. https://www.toolstation.com/flexible-connector/p25396

    We’ve had one for 20 years. They only need minimal support and the ridges haven’t been a problem for flushage

    The only drawback is that you can’t rod them; that’s asking for a poonami

    As it so happens, I’ve just installed a flexi on my loo, no problems so far !! Things are flushing as before.

    Flexi plus a daily sachet of laxido would be my suggestion

    In reality we had a flexi in dreadful circumstances in a Victorian flat, connected to some archaic cast soil pipe system. It never caused a problem in over 10 years so I would use again if circumstances dictated. The ridges were not really ridges as such, so there was no real chance of poo clag

    Id choose a mcalpine flexi every single time if the alternative was a collection of offset connectors

    Why do you have a 110 straight soil black connector on the wall .
    You can plug a pan con into soil without the swaged end. Give you more room to do it rigid

    Resolved! Thanks everyone!
    poo pipes

    Good spot @singletrackmind – it was just temporary, it’s got a cap in the end to stop unpleasant gases whilst working on the rest of the cupbo… Errr, room.

    Is that a pan con in there?
