I’m filling out some paperwork and need to translate info from my Irish grand parents birth certificate.

Exhibit A- can anyone read that address?

    14 Cawbride Road?

Any idea what town or part of Ireland to cross reference?

That’s the issue, I only need the country, but the only reference I have is the road name

I might have to give in and call my uncle, but I know that will involve a minimum one hour phone call! Her inherited my Irish grans love of talking.

Update, I think its in Dublin, possibly Donnybrook area (that is where the birth certificate was issued) and ther eis a Cambridge Road near there.

I read that as Cambridge road. I assume that from the long version of the birth certificate. Have you got the short version? That may well have the county the registration was done in. My mum’s did. Don’t send that in it’ll just come back to you.
Oh and the 40 days quoted on the tracking site will sit with nothing happening until day 39.

Edit hopefully your family still has property on Cambridge road dublin, it’s not a cheap street.

I’m applying for foreign birth registration through Irish grandparent, so looking at 9 month minimum for that to come back before then applying for passport. I’ve been meaning to do it for a while but a 3 hour wait in passport control in Amsterdam last month was the final kick I needed to get on with it.

The chat on the Irish passport/registration website is quite good the folk I chatted too were very helpful. Ask them if Dublin is enough (it was for me). We also managed to solve a problem before it arose, I knew I’d filled a box in with the wrong information.
