I think the idea of the lips on the lower section of the DH (after the cattle grid) was to build them so they wear to the correct shape after they bed in fully.
The trail crew is aware the new table/hip straight after the big berm under the bridge is a bit short unless you are landing on the far left as the line straight over it is a bit short.
The other track should be up and running soon in the new year, dig days are being organized so why not come along and help if you can spare the time.

Personally I got to ride both old and new tracks within a month of each other, prefer the new one in places, namely the catch berm at the bottom of the road drop and then the immediate right hander leading to the steps. The smooth table tops scared the wotsit out of me on my first run though.

If it wasn’t a loooong drive up I’d be doing a bit of digging for sure, sadly time and money are limited.

I’m off there this afternoon. I’m not too comfortable/good in the air so the changes to the bottom section scare the bejaysus out of me at speed. I tend to session the top stuff and then do one final full run.

I’m a huge fan of technical, steep, gnarly riding (and big drops) but not jumps/tables/hips/doubles so the bottom half changes are wasted on me.

Pains me to say it but it’s a thumbs down from me…well from the berm after the ‘under the bridge’ chute stuff anyway.

    Digs days hey?

Loco, how do I find out about those? WDMBA.co.uk?

I rode it shortly after it had been done and couldn’t get the hang of the new lips in the bottom section – they’re just not in keeping with the speed of the course
if really good riders will get the benefit of the extra air you get then fair enough
I can see why they’ve done it in terms of the lips lasting longer, but may it’s a bit excessive

I’m hoping to give it a go around xmas.

I thought the flat turn after the road drop was a good challenge. Not that I was very proficient at it. I could imagine that turn needed a lot of maintenance at regular intervals though.
