I was at a trade show a few months back and someone had some very simple looking but effective rubbery straps that you could use to strap a bag to your handlebars or seatpost etc.

They stretched so appear better than the nylon ones I currently use and I imagine will be less bad at damaging paintwork.

What are they and where do I buy them?

Err... Had a puncture recently? Inner tube you didn't want to patch? Use as is, or if you like use a knife to make strips from the old tube. Waste not want not... Give the 19 euros to the charity of your choice.

i use 20mm wide double sided velcro tape , comes on a roll in 1 mtr lengths for just a couple of quid on ebay , just cut to length

makes it easy to adjust tightness and the soft fabric side doesnt wreck paint

I just use disposable tourniquets. Cheap and easy to use.

Mt Zoom.
I've got three, two tubes and a broken frame bag held in place but useful in all sorts of emergancies.
Oddest thing they've held is an 8" length of 2x2, carries strapped along the top tube and rack.
They're very good.

Voile straps are great. Hold my drybag to my handlebars and held my bike safely to roof of various vehicles on very bad roads.

How short is your bike ifyou needed the frame AND the rack for 0.4m of stick

Voile straps are available from a few outlets that I've seen so undoubtedly more: backcountry.scot as mentioned above; the Bearbones shop; Keep Pedalling in Manchester.

@joshvegas - err that's 0.2m 😉

Not Charlie the bikemongers sell those voile straps, if you want to support a newish business.

It's more a question of how bad my typing is...
Worked surprisingly well unless I wanted to turn left
