MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
In honour of the rather marvellous thread about bikes on the 'Bay.....
Let's have a thread to celebrate the bonkers in sport, the slightly unhinged lunacy, the eccentric oddity. Etc.
Like these idiots

Hill and Stewart doing some formation flying at the Nurbugring;
24 litre Napier Bentley enjoying not having launch control;
worth looking at the full size version of that Bentley image for detail;

Does that Hill/Stewert photo look photoshopped to you? The shadow under the car looks all wrong to me

Anyone who has been up close, or skied a World Cup downhill run will appreciate what it takes to ski one like this !!
Hell yes! Utterly batshitmental! To just ski it at a decent pace is one thing, but at the speeds they go? Bonkers.
Ha ha sidecar moto x utterley certifiable 😆
Been to the Fram museum in Oslo, brilliant to see.
Great thread will post some photos when I get home from work.
Martin Schanche anyone??? another mental Norwegian.
Probably my favourite film of 2012! Travis Pastrana is kind of annoying though. The opening scene is incredible.
If videos are allowed:
the whole "riding down cliffs" thing is slightly insane to begin with, but 52 seconds is where it gets proper mental
backflip whilst outrunning an avalanche. classy.
hard to beat terje for a true nutjob...

Over 60? Had a double heart bypass operation? Amputated your own fingertips due to frostbite?
Why not run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents? Then climb the north face of the Eiger and Everest?
backflip whilst outrunning an avalanche. classy.
When you're that good it's probably a more convenient way of checking what's behind.
no one gets close to Ranolph Fiennes for me, as mad as a bag of monkeys.
no one gets close to Ranolph Fiennes for me, as mad as a bag of monkeys.
I like the way that whenever he's interviewed the story of him taking off his own fingers in his shed comes up, yet he never seems bored to telling it without being big headed. Can't think of many 'celebrities' who'd manage the same.
The definition of batshitmental though!
Here, here this is batshitmental. Ok so it's sitting on stilts at the moment, but if you've ever sailed one or seen one sailing, or indeed on YouTube or followed the Volvo Ocean Race, then you'd agree with me, a very sleeping Giant.
Taken on today's ride, down at Endeavour Boat Yard....

Group B rallying. The cars, the drivers and the fans all BSM.

Ty Domy mentalist 😯
Regarding the ice hockey punch ups , are they a bit pointless with all that padding?
No ,I don't want to find out.

The guys who went to sign 'The Book of Legends' on the Bashkaus River. First descent in 1975 = half the group die on the first rapid. Since then the majority of groups on the river have deaths. Day one, this group find a body, day three they find another body. Yet they still paddle on. Mental.

Blimey, you'd think with all that practice they'd actually be able to fight!
A superb edition this week, folks! Thanks! 🙂
Legend. Do you have a picture of that boat the right way up and in one piece??
Cheers for the link. BSM Indeed!!

Fully, certifiably, BSM!
Absolutely. I was also going to post an Unlimited Hydroplane (complete with helicopter turbine engine) photo, but even they are properly tame in comparison!
Take a chainsaw, attach skis, try not to have the person behind you land on your head. Sport!

I checked google for snocross crash pics, but there's very few. Not because they don't crash, but because when they do, not even the internet likes looking at the results.
Some cracking nutters on here today, cant find a photo but there was a kid in a wheelchair who went of a skate ramp and did a 720 flip and nailed the landing, sure i saw it on CH4 news last year sometime.
That photo of Andrew Mcauley is spine chilling. His eyes look like they know how it is going to end
Speaking of snowmobiles and mentalists, what would you do to make something that terrifying more terrifying? Why not make one powered by a pulse jet engine? Like these mental Swedes did:
late entry but evan garcia deserves a mention. nutjob.
Bregante's first pic = batshitmental

Oh, we forgot the frogs.
Which deranged garlic sniffer dreamed this excellent piece of mental awesomeness up?
Deffinatley mental awesomeness but isn't it swiss?
