I was very surprised where everyone managed to stay on their bikes in the TTT in the giro, do you think they can do it again in the TdF? Very flat, and pretty straight.

Think it’s going to be either HTC or Sky getting the win, not sure which though – HTC?

An average time of 25 minutes is expected.

    Start Times:

    14:30 Saxo Bank-SunGard

    14:37 Euskaltel-Euskadi

Pah a group of us on our SS would beat that, even with a cake rest

I hope Geraint gets yellow, that’d be awesome

That first start doesn’t help Contador. No time checks to work off. Agree it would be nice for Thomas to get yellow. I’d rather him have success than Winjo.

Assuming a 2:1 gear ratio on a 26″ bike, that’s a fairly awesome 220 crank revolutions per minute, or a bit less than 4 revolutions per second!

so you’re suggesting they don’t go fixed due to the risk of grounding a pedal on the bends ?

I suspect your calculations are a mile off.

25mins, whats the point my commute to work is longer than that

If fact it takes me that long to unlock the shed, check the tyres logos are still lined up, deal with any new weeds, set up the tripod, wipe the frame with WD40, click the camera, upload the piccy.

These pros do it the night before to save rushing in the morning.

Could be. Care to explain where?

Perfect timing – just got in from my morning road ride, showered and it’s right as Saxobank started!

It’s all down to forward planning. Even our cake stop was timed down to the last second to ensure we got back in time. 😉

Lol – one man with a rib eye steak told to “cook it”

oldnpastit – it’s closer to 240rpm, but i must admit that is still lower than i thought it would be.

Realman – wonder if he was told to cook it to prevent it from getting contaminated with performance enhancing drugs.

Saxobank are all over the place! They’re obviously desperate to get Contador back up a bit in the standings but they’ve already lost 2 riders.

I love watching the TTT though, watching a well drilled squad is just incredible.

Looks like they’ve lost 3 riders now. Risky tactic.

so ITV4 interview of Sean Yates at the start of the coverage- was he drunk or what?

No, he always sounds like that. I was watching on EuroSport HD where Sean Kelly and Dave Harmon are doing the commentary, Sean always sounds dour and miserable and slightly pissed 😆

so what would Cancellara have done without having the wheel suckers?

I’d imagine the team will still be faster than Cancellara on his own.

I’m hoping that I might start to like Cadel Evans on this tour, unless he starts throwing a strop again.
