    Wise people,

I see occasional references to bikes coming from a taiwan bike catalogue (or similar). I wonder who's bikes these are? I can imagine this happening with the supermarket brands but I don't recall seeing different posh brands flogging the same frames in different colours and claiming the designs as their own.

    So…

Does this catalogue exist? Who uses it?

it's mainly components, so your kona/yeti/giant/spesh/dmr/on-one/ragley/etc branded seatposts/saddles/bars/stems/headsets/etc

The only frames I can think of are dirty-jo, handsome-dog and brand-x.

A lot of the niche brands do this, so your nc-17, deity, or some other hardcore canadian brand pedals you paid a small fortune for, realy are just welgo, that vietamise factory who's name escapes me, or other brands underneath the logo.

Blimey you have lead a sheltered life havent you 🙂 . Look at my new Ribble sportive made by Pedal Force (RS2) and the frame is rebranded by many (some boutique style) other brands.

Also as sais above Kinesis TW make LLLLoooooaaaadddddssss of frames for ther people! That is not to say that they are specific to the bike manufacturer though to their own specs to credit them 🙂

I think people underestimate how many of their pride'n'joy frames are made by kineisis TW or other generic comapies then painted and shiped halfway accross the world into you LBS 😉

I'm pretty certain my Santa Cruz Chameleon was made in a Taiwanese factory, and a damn fine job they made of it as well.

    Three common ways of working:-

    1) Get product out of the catalogue, get your logo slapped on it.
    2) Get product out of the catalogue, do some revisions to it, get your logo slapped on it.
    3) See a company that make something kind of like what you want, and get them to make what you want using their production methods.
