Basically, my current bike has a 170 mm fork with 160mm rear travel. I set both front and rear running 25% sag at the beginning. However, I constantly find myself bottoming out the rear shock. The 170mm fork is so capable riding through any rough and high speed section of the trail. Seems that my 160mm rear simply cannot keep up with the abuse. I have experiment with different damping setup at the rear shock, in order to make the rear act like the front, I end up dial in a lot high speed compression, which makes my ride very harsh so I end up dial it back to the original setting. Recently, I tried running more psi at the back in order to make it match the front fork. The result is, as expected, that the rear become less sensitive to small bumps.
I wonder if anyone has any thoughts into this topic as I know many people running more travel on the front. How do you set them up to make them feel "match"?
Cheers

What bike, fork and shock?
The point isn't so much to match imo, because the front does such a different job to the rear, so I basically set up each end for its own needs. So they end up getting the job done but in different ways, best way imo. ymmv of course
Sounds like you could do with a volume reducer in the shock.
