    Had to do a search on the internet to try and find out what the delivery status of a parcel of mine actually meant and came across a thread which suggests that couriers (who seem to largely be self employed) earn 40-50p per parcel delivered, while supplying vehicle, petrol etc etc.

    Not much of a job, is it?

    Should I tip them a quid for each parcel I receive? We live fairly rural, and I can’t see it being terribly profitable delivering stuff round here.

    I’ve never tipped a courier (didn’t know it was the done thing), and neither does the large distribution company I work for.

    Offering a cuppa or cold drink goes a long way……though usually they’re too busy to stop.

    It would depend on what the courier was “carrying” I guess
